Carolyn M. Dudek, Ph.D., is Professor of Political Science, Director of European Studies, and ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Chair at Hofstra University. An internationally recognized scholar of European Union politics and policy, Professor Dudek specializes in EU responses to antisemitism, examining the intersection of European integration, national politics, and the contemporary rise of antisemitism across Europe.
She is currently completing a monograph on European Union and member-state policies combating antisemitism, with particular attention to developments in Germany and France. She is also co-editor and contributor to the forthcoming volume The Future of European Policy: Challenges, Trends and Opportunities.
Professor Dudek’s work has been supported by numerous prestigious awards and fellowships, including Fulbright Scholarships to Spain and Argentina, postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University’s European Institute and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and a research fellowship at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University. She was also Scholar-in- Residence at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) Summer Institute on Curriculum Development in Critical Contemporary Antisemitism at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford, and is a Fellow at the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism.
Drawing on her research and international engagement, Professor Dudek developed the undergraduate course “The Politics of Antisemitism,” bringing contemporary policy debates and scholarly inquiry into the classroom.
Carolyn is a recipient of the 2026 ISGAP Faculty Fellowship Training Program: Combatting Holocaust Distortion and Global Antisemitism.
