Bryan Acuña Obando holds a Master’s degree in International Relations with emphasis on Diplomacy from the National University of Costa Rica, as well as a Licentiate degree in International Relations. He has specialized for over a decade in the analysis of the Middle East, focusing on political processes, diplomacy, and security dynamics, and has been lectured since 2014.
Since 2016, he has written a bi‑weekly column for Radio Sefarad (Spain) under the title “Fuera de foco” (Out of Focus), offering critical and alternative perspectives on international affairs, both columns in spanish. Regular contributions are also made to press media in Costa Rica and abroad.
Acuña co‑founded the Center for Interactive Studies on the Middle East (CEIMO) – an academic initiative aimed at generating multidimensional analyses of the region and promoting conflict resolution proposals. Intellectual production includes academic and outreach articles, as well as two books in progress, both focused on the political and social analysis of the Middle East. International consulting work for private institutions and, occasionally, government agencies is also performed, integrating economic dimensions into the study of international relations.
