Md. Abusalah Sakender is an IR scholar and historian of South Asia whose work examines geopolitics, political Islam, foreign policy, military history, the Holocaust, and global antisemitism in a comparative perspective. He holds an MA in Comparative History with a specialization in Religious Studies from Central European University (Hungary). He previously earned both a BA (Honours) and an MA degree in Islamic History and Culture, with a specialization in Sociological History of Islam from University of Dhaka. He has also completed summer schools on “Modern Jewish History & Culture in German/Slavic Contact Zones” at Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) and the University of Wrocław (Poland) and on “Curriculum Development in Critical Antisemitism Studies” at ISGAP-Oxford Summer School. He has authored thirteen peer-reviewed journal articles and six books. His forthcoming book, Islamization in Bangladesh under General Ziaur Rahman (1975–1981), is under review at Routledge. His opinion pieces have appeared in Bangladeshi, Nepali, and Indian newspapers. He has presented at international conferences, including those hosted by International Studies Association, University of Queensland, University of Oxford, and University of Cambridge, and serves as a reviewer for SAGE Open and AJHA. He served as a Student Body Representative in the Central European University Student Union (2017–2018). He is currently a Faculty (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Islamic History and Culture at Jagannath University (Bangladesh). Additionally, he is a Teaching Fellow at Touro University (USA) and a Research Fellow at ISGAP (USA).
