The answers to the question of Israel’s entitlements in respect to the City of Jerusalem and the
disputed territories under international law depend on certain prior legally binding decisions
which are reflected in international legal instruments. Frequently, allegations of violations of
international law against the State of Israel are based on political arguments devoid of legal
merit. False narratives are accepted by many globally in the midst of rising antisemitism
disguised as anti-Israel/Zionist initiatives. In order to counter the weaponization of international
law against Israel, it is vital to increase the knowledge and understanding of the international law
sources of the territorial sovereignty entitlements of Israel.
