Dr. Charles Asher Small is the Director of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), and the Koret Distinguished Scholar at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. Charles has lectured internationally and worked as a consultant and policy advisor in North America, Europe, Southern Africa, and the Middle East. As a scholar on antisemitism, he has spoken as an expert to eight national Parliaments around the world, addressed the United Nations, and has been a guest speaker at top universities throughout North America, England, Eastern Europe, South Africa, China, New Zealand, Australia, Israel and other nations, as well as attending key academic and policy conferences – including the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. Currently, Charles holds research seminars series with ISGAP on the interdisciplinary study of antisemitism at Fordham University, the Harvard Law School, the Columbia University Law School, McGill University, Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and University of Miami.
Charles received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, McGill University, Montreal; a M.Sc. in Urban Development Planning in Economics, Development Planning Unit (DPU), University College London; and a Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil), St. Antony’s College, Oxford University. He completed post-doctorate research at the Groupement de recherche ethnicité et société, Université de Montréal.
