ISGAP-Oxford Summer Institute 2018 – Day Nine Highlights


The ninth day of the 2018 ISGAP-Oxford Summer Institute featured Professor Katya Gibel Mevorach, Anthropology and American Studies, Grinnell College, discussing “Strategic Interventions: Contextualizing and Challenging the New Antisemitism.” She was followed by Professor David Hirsh, Lecturer in Sociology, Goldsmiths, University of London, who spoke on “Contemporary Left Antisemitism.” Professor Dan Michman, Professor (Emeritus) of Modern Jewish History, as well as Chair, Arnold and Leona Finkler Institute of Holocaust Research, and Bar Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, as well as Head of the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem, delivered two talks in the afternoon, including “An Antisemitic Idea through a Linguistic-Historical Lens: The ‘Ghetto’ from Venice to the Nazi Era,” followed by “The Polish ‘Holocaust Law.'”
