Professor Abebe Zegeye (Cradle: Research & Training Center, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) holds the degrees of Ph.D. from the University of Oxford (UK) and B.A. in Economics, Philosophy and Sociology from Haverford College, Pennsylvania (USA). He previously taught at Yale University (USA), the University of California at Santa Barbara (USA), University of Warwick (UK) and the University of South Africa. Since 2014 he has been associated with a variety of educational institutions in Ethiopia, including Wollo University, Waldia University, the Organisation for Social Science Research East Africa (Addis Ababa) and the Federal Ministry of Science and Higher Education. His numerous publications include a book on the Beta Israel (Falashas), one of the cultural/religious minorities in the Lake Tana area.
